RITA THARU

Meet Rita Tharu, a young student from a very humble family where her father survives through daily wage labor. Since childhood, she has grown up watching her parents struggle every single day just to manage food, shelter, and basic needs. There were days when even a small expense felt heavy, yet in the middle of all this hardship, her parents never stopped one thing—believing in education for their daughter.

Rita still remembers many nights when she studied with worry in her heart, knowing her father had worked the whole day under the sun just to keep the family going. Sometimes, she would pause while studying, thinking about the sacrifices behind every notebook, every pen, and every opportunity she had. Those thoughts often made her eyes heavy, but they also gave her strength.

Financial difficulties were never far away. There were moments when continuing her studies felt uncertain, and giving up seemed like the easier path. But every time she felt weak, she looked at her parents’ tired faces and reminded herself why she had to continue. Education became more than a dream—it became a responsibility toward her family’s struggles.

In this difficult journey, she learned about the UGO Nepal scholarship through her seniors. That moment gave her something she had not felt in a long time—hope. For Rita, this scholarship is not just financial support; it is a lifeline that would allow her to study without constantly worrying about fees, books, or basic academic needs.

Her dream is simple but powerful: to complete her higher education, build a stable career, and lift her family out of financial hardship. She wants to become someone who can repay her parents’ sacrifices and bring peace to their lives. At the same time, she hopes to inspire other students who are walking the same difficult path she is.

Rita believes that if she is given this opportunity, she will not waste it. She will carry her struggles as strength, study with full dedication, and work hard to transform her life. More than anything, she wants to prove that even from the most difficult situations, dreams can still grow and succeed.

She ends with deep gratitude for considering her application and for giving hope to students who are still fighting quietly for their education despite all hardships.
