From a small and modest neighborhood in Muktipur–12, Nepalgunj, Banke, Srijana Patahar has grown up carrying big dreams shaped by struggle, hope, and determination.
She comes from a humble family where financial resources are limited and every day is a challenge to manage basic needs. Her father works as a daily wage plumber, and her mother is a housewife who supports the family with limited and unstable means. Along with her sibling who is also studying, the family constantly struggles to balance education expenses and daily survival. Despite these hardships, her parents have always believed in the importance of education and encouraged her to continue her studies.
From an early age, Srijana believed that education could change her life and help uplift her family. She has always aspired to pursue a Bachelor in Civil Engineering and build a career where she can become financially independent and contribute meaningfully to society.
Her academic journey up to Grade 12 was not easy. Financial difficulties limited her access to tuition classes, learning materials, and additional academic support. At the same time, she also faced societal pressure and discouraging remarks that questioned her ability as a girl, which at times made her feel doubtful. However, with strong support from her family, teachers, and her own determination, she continued her studies through self-learning and hard work and successfully completed Grade 12.
Srijana learned about this scholarship opportunity through her teachers and later confirmed it through online sources. For her, this scholarship represents hope at a time when continuing higher education feels uncertain due to financial burden.
Her goal is to become a professional Civil Engineer, contribute to the development of infrastructure, and work in a field where she can apply both leadership and technical skills. More importantly, she wants to support her family and serve as a role model for girls who come from similar backgrounds.
She believes that with the support of this scholarship, she will be able to focus on her studies without financial stress and move closer to turning her dreams into reality as a responsible and independent engineer.
