SADEEKSHA SAPKOTA

Meet Sadeeksha Sapkota, a determined young student applying for a scholarship to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work and Psychology (BASW/PSYCH) at Kathmandu Model College (KMC), with a deep aspiration to build a meaningful career in mental health and social service.

She comes from a very simple and humble background, where her life has been shaped by both emotional strength and financial hardship. Sadeeksha was raised by her single mother, who has been her greatest source of inspiration. Her mother has been an active member of the Brahma Kumaris Organization since 2010, a global spiritual movement focused on peace, meditation, and self-transformation. Fully dedicated to this organization, her mother does not receive any salary and lives a life of selfless service. Growing up in the peaceful environment of Brahma Kumaris Bhawan (Om Shanti Ashram), Sadeeksha learned values of simplicity, discipline, compassion, and service from an early age.

Her father, who worked as a secretary in Diktel, Khotang, passed away in 2005 due to food poisoning. Since then, her mother has raised her alone with the support of a small government pension, which has been very limited in meeting all educational and living expenses. Despite financial struggles, her mother ensured she received a good education and continuously encouraged her to pursue her dreams.

Sadeeksha completed her higher secondary education at Reader’s International Model Secondary School (RIMS+2) in the Management stream. Throughout her academic journey, she has remained dedicated and hardworking, also actively participating in extracurricular activities. In Grade 9, she was recognized as one of the most active students of the year, which further motivated her to stay engaged in both academic and personal development.

However, financial limitations have always been a major challenge for her. The cost of higher education, including tuition fees, books, and living expenses, is beyond what her family can manage. Despite strong motivation, continuing her studies without support has become difficult.

Her long-term goal is to become a Clinical Psychologist and support individuals suffering from mental health issues such as depression, trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and stress. She also hopes to raise awareness about mental health in Nepal and contribute to building a more understanding and supportive society.

For Sadeeksha, this scholarship represents more than financial assistance—it is an opportunity to continue her education with dignity, focus fully on her goals, and turn her passion for helping others into reality. She is committed to working hard, excelling academically, and using her knowledge to create positive change in society.

She expresses sincere gratitude for considering her application and hopes to represent the values of service, compassion, and dedication through her future work.
