Kamala Nepali was born into a family of 6 which consists of six members and is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s in Education (B.Ed.) at Adarsha Multiple Campus. Although Kamala comes from a humble background, she is determined to follow her dreams. Despite many challenges, she has built a strong spirit, overcoming obstacles and finding ways to move closer to her goals.
Her life journey till now has not been easy. Her family’s financial situation is fragile, with limited resources to support the education of her and her three sisters. From an early childhood, her parents’ frequent arguments, which were often influenced by alcohol, created a difficult and unsteady environment for studying at home.
To escape the struggles at home, Kamala and her sisters began living with their grandparents at a young age. While staying with them, she completed her grade 10 education. After that, she moved to Kathmandu, where she worked to support herself while continuing her studies and eventually completed her grade 12. During this time, Kamala faced immense stress, balancing her studies and work which sometimes forced her to think about abandoning her studies due to financial constraints.
Her life took a hopeful turn when her uncle from her village told her about the UGO Scholarship. Encouraged by the possibility of relief, Kamala applied for the program. When she received the email confirming she had been awarded the scholarship, it felt like an invaluable gift. This moment brought her immense joy and renewed her motivation to work hard for her dreams.
The scholarship has significantly lightened Kamala’s financial burden and provided her with the support needed to continue her studies. Kamala dreams of becoming a dedicated and capable teacher—someone who inspires students and approaches the profession with patience, commitment, and a sense of purpose. Kamala is deeply grateful to the UGO Scholarship for giving her this opportunity. She sees it as a guiding light, helping her stay focused on becoming a hardworking, capable, and dedicated teacher. With this support, she is confident in her ability to make a meaningful impact and grow into a responsible citizen, ready to give back to her community.
