Meet Anshu Gurung from Resunga Municipality–06, Gulmi, a determined young student whose journey is shaped by hardship, responsibility, and a strong desire to build a better future through education.
Anshu is currently pursuing a Bachelor in Business Studies (BBS) at Butwal Kalika Campus. She comes from a very simple and struggling family background, where life has not been easy since childhood. After the passing of her father, she has been living with her mother and sister. Her mother, despite poor health and the need for regular medication, works hard through household responsibilities to support the family.
Growing up without a stable income source, Anshu has faced continuous financial challenges. Even basic educational needs such as college fees, books, and study materials have been difficult to manage. Yet, she has never allowed these difficulties to stop her from continuing her studies.
She completed her school-level education up to Grade 12 with determination, supported partly by fee-free education from her school. That support played an important role in helping her continue her academic journey despite financial hardship.
Throughout her life, Anshu has carried the dream of improving her family’s condition through education. She believes that higher education is the only way to break the cycle of struggle she has witnessed at home.
During her current studies, she learned about a scholarship opportunity through a teacher at her campus. This opportunity gave her renewed hope that she could continue her education without placing additional financial burden on her mother.
Her long-term goal is to become a bank manager, build a stable career, and support her family financially. She wants to ensure that her mother can live a healthier and more comfortable life and that their struggles gradually ease through her success.
For Anshu, this scholarship is not just financial support—it is a chance to continue her dreams with confidence, reduce her family’s burden, and move one step closer to a secure and dignified future.
