Anjali Karki

Anjali Karki was born into a poor and parentless family, where life forced her to take on responsibilities much earlier than expected. Four years ago, she lost her mother—the strongest pillar of her life. Her death marked a painful turning point, turning education into a daily struggle for survival rather than just a goal.

Soon after, her father remarried and gradually disconnected from the family, leaving Anjali and her siblings emotionally and financially abandoned. Since then, her maternal aunt has been raising them, but due to her own financial and health challenges, she struggles to support even basic household needs, let alone higher education.

Despite these hardships, Anjali remained committed to her studies. She completed her education up to Grade 12 in a government school with the help of scholarships, while silently carrying emotional pain and financial uncertainty throughout her school life.

After Grade 12, she went through a difficult phase of confusion and depression, unsure how to move forward without financial or parental support. Eventually, with determination, she enrolled in a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) at MUSOM College, believing it would open doors to a better future.

To continue her studies, she began teaching students and taking small loans from relatives, becoming the main earning member of her household with an income of around NRs. 8,000 per month. Despite constant financial pressure, she continues to manage her education and family responsibilities.

Her dream is to complete her BBA, become financially independent, and build her own business that can uplift her family’s living conditions.

She later learned about the UGO Scholarship through social media and applied despite documentation challenges. After receiving guidance from the organization, she was selected.

For Anjali, the scholarship is more than financial aid—it is hope, stability, and a chance to continue her education without giving up on her dreams.
