From a small family of just two members, Shreesti Khanal is a young BCA student whose journey is shaped by loss, responsibility, and a strong determination to change her life through education.
She is currently studying in the first semester of the Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) program. After the passing of her father, her mother became the sole caregiver and provider for the family. Since then, her mother has been working tirelessly to manage daily expenses, house rent, and her daughter’s education. However, with a very limited income, it has become extremely difficult to sustain both household needs and academic costs.
Shreesti often faces moments of stress and helplessness when college fees become due, knowing the burden it places on her mother. Along with tuition fees, she also requires essential academic resources such as textbooks and a laptop, which are crucial for programming, coding, and practical assignments in her field of study. Unfortunately, due to financial constraints, these resources are difficult to afford.
Despite these challenges, she has remained committed to her education. She successfully completed her Grade 12 through consistent effort and discipline, always believing that education is the only path to improve her situation and support her family.
Her dream is to become a software developer, build a stable career in the tech field, and support her mother financially. More than personal success, she wants to give her mother a peaceful and secure life in return for her sacrifices.
She learned about this scholarship opportunity through her college teacher, which gave her renewed hope at a time when continuing her studies felt uncertain. For her, this support represents relief from financial pressure and the chance to focus fully on her learning.
