Apshara Bogati

Meet Apshara Bogati from Chandrapur-6, Rautahat, a U-Go Scholar whose journey reflects resilience, determination, and hope. Coming from a financially struggling background, she has faced numerous challenges throughout her life, yet continues to dream of becoming a successful businesswoman to support her family and improve their living conditions.

She belongs to a family of six, including her grandmother, mother, two brothers, sister-in-law, and herself. Among them, only her mother and one brother contribute financially. Her mother works as a farmer and tries her best to sustain the household, but their income is not enough to meet the family’s needs.

Growing up in a society where early marriage is often seen as a solution to financial hardship, Apshara also faced pressure from her family and community to get married and reduce the economic burden. However, she refused to let these expectations define her future. Her determination to continue her bachelor’s degree remained strong, even when circumstances were discouraging.

Her life took a difficult turn when she lost her father in Grade 10. Until then, he had been the main source of financial support for the family. After his passing, the family fell into a severe financial crisis. During this difficult period, the director of Bal Niketan stepped in to support her education and helped her continue her studies, giving her a chance to move forward.

Apshara often says, “I would never have considered continuing my education; instead, I might have ended up married and settled somewhere. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity I received to study and chase my dreams.”

With the support of the U-Go Scholarship, Apshara has been able to continue her higher education and move closer to her goals. The scholarship has not only eased her financial burden but also helped her turn her dream of becoming a businesswoman into a growing reality. It has given her the strength and opportunity to pursue her ambitions with confidence and determination.
