Announcing Our 2026 U-GO Ambassadors from Nepal: Apshara Bogati and Mira Hayu

We are incredibly proud to announce that Apshara Bogati and Mira Hayu have been selected as our 2026 U-GO Ambassadors! From April 24–28, they will travel together to Phnom Penh, Cambodia, to represent Nepal at the 5th Annual U-GO Summit.

Selected from a highly competitive pool of talented young women, Apshara and Mira met rigorous criteria including strong communication skills, academic focus, and dedication to U-GO’s global AI programming. Both scholars have overcome significant financial hardships to pursue their higher education, proving that courage and determination can turn dreams into reality.

Apshara’s Journey: From Societal Pressure to Future Businesswoman

Apshara is from Chandrapur-6, Rautahat, and is currently pursuing her BBS at Janajyoti Multiple Campus. After losing her father in the 10th grade, she faced severe financial hardship. Coming from a family of six, her household faced a severe financial crisis after the loss of her father in the 10th grade. To keep the family afloat, her mother works tirelessly in farming, while her brother works as a driver.

In a society where financial struggles often pressure young women into early marriage to lessen the family’s burden, Apshara stood firm. She refused to let societal norms define her future. Balancing her studies with a part-time job, she successfully secured the U-GO scholarship.

“I would never have considered continuing my education; instead, I might have ended up married and settled somewhere,” Apshara reflects. Now, her sights are set on the future: she dreams of becoming a successful businesswoman to uplift her family and improve their lives.

Mira’s Path: Courage Beyond the Classroom

Mira, a 4th-semester BICTE student at Triyuga Janata Multiple Campus, grew up in TNP 10 Bokse, Udaypur. Her father earns a very modest income at a local survey office, making her mother’s hard work preparing and selling street food the primary source of their daily survival.

Despite struggling to pay school fees growing up, Mira remained a dedicated student. “These struggles taught me patience and determination,” Mira explains. “I learned that education is not only about books but also about the courage to continue even when life is difficult.”

The U-GO scholarship eased her financial burden, allowing her to focus fully on her degree. Taking full advantage of the opportunity, Mira stepped up as a U-GO Nepal’s volunteer, guiding her peers and building her confidence and leadership skills. For Mira, the upcoming trip to Cambodia represents a chance to explore new cultures, learn new skills, and realize her capacity to achieve even more.

A Shared Vision for Empowerment

For both Apshara and Mira, the U-GO scholarship provided more than just financial relief; it opened doors to global exposure, including active participation in international AI sessions alongside peers from around the world.

As they prepare for a journey they once thought unimaginable, they share a unified, long-term vision: to become financially independent, support their families, and eventually empower other young girls who have dreams but lack opportunities.
